Stefan Richter joined Corby SA in 2015, bringing experience in investment research and the analysis of industrial businesses. He focuses on companies whose competitive strengths and cash flows can endure changing economic conditions. Stefan developed the firm’s energy-transition watchlist, giving the investment committee a structured basis for examining the businesses affected by this long-term shift. His research connects industry developments with company fundamentals, with particular attention to the capital required to sustain future growth.
He studies the relationship between industrial demand, production capacity and the investment needed to maintain a company’s competitive position. In energy-transition research, he distinguishes broad sector themes from the economics of individual businesses. Stefan’s approach asks how an opportunity translates into earnings and cash flow, and whether the balance sheet can support the investment required through less favourable phases of the cycle.
